Clay Roofing Tiles : TBF Type - Installation Method


Tiles laying
	The Romane from TBF roof tile should be laid from the left to the right (see tiles numbers besides) Batten size : width 50 mm, height 25 mm. Tiles nailing : on 45o roof pitch (or over), or under very windy conditions, the tiles should be partially fixed. Ask for recommandations. Use 1 ¹/₂ inch nails. *
* for best watertighness, nail hole of the Romane TBF are not thru and are positionned on the highest part of the interlocking.


Eave fixing

when a batten is used instead of a fascia board, batten thickness should be doulbe (50 mm instead of 25 mm)

Ridge fixing with mortar

Dry ridge fixing

Dry ridge fixing is easy and safe with the exclusive TBF under ridge with variable gauge from 340 to 390 mm
(365 +- 25mm)
Benefits : fast laying - safe from cement leakage and from fungus growth on concrete seals.

Verge overall length : 440 mm, (gauge : 365 mm, overlapping : 75 mm)

Detail ridge fixing



Ridge tree. The ridge tree should be made of timber : - tickness about 35 mm - height to be decided on site to leave a 10mm gap between the top of the ridge tree and the under side of the ridge tile.
Ridge ends. They are fixed on the wider part of the ridge (large diameter) to ensure perfect stability. If you happen to finish on a male end the entire ridge will have to be shifted to start with a ridge tile cut in half. The ridge should therefore start with the female end of the ridge.
